In the past few weeks, I have listened to several people talking about nightmares. They went to bed looking forward to a regenerating night of sleep and woke up in the middle of the night terrified with palpitations. Some did not remember what they had dreamt of, just the emotions that they had experienced. Some had the same terrifying dream that had visited them through out their lives during periods of stress.
